Project Description

A contemporary extension off a traditional Edwardian home opens up to the backyard and bridges over the existing swimming pool. Step into this Edwardian period home where period features like decorative ceilings were restored and meticulously maintained to ensure the character of the home remained at its heart. This architecturally designed extension starts towards the rear of the family home and bridges over the swimming pool, looking out to a beautiful alfresco area designed for entertaining and relaxing with family. This home was designed and built with three key zones in mind:

  • the original, period part of the home, which includes a large master bedroom with WIR, formal dining and guest bedroom
  • family living – large kitchen, family room, study and powder room
  • children’s area – children’s bedrooms, child friendly play area, main bathroom, laundry and toy storage room.

The aesthetics are functional using natural materials throughout the home like natural stone benchtops, bluestone, timber and Rheinzink cladding that wraps around the home and flows inside to create a warm homely feel.
